Have I already mentioned how much I love plaid right now (along with stripes and gingham)? It's charming and kitschy, and there's nothing fussy or stuffy about it - and it makes for a great motif. Use it on ribbons, envelope liners, shirts, socks, napkins. Use solid white - and a green lawn - as a backdrop to keep the plaid from looking too busy. I also like this as a take on a pink and green palette, where the pink is punchy and instead of pale.
