The warm weather, the flowers, the freedom to have your wedding outdoors — all these make summer weddings so fun, romantic and popular!
How do you set your summer wedding apart? Here are some of my best ideas:
•Wear a dress in flowing fabric that will catch the summer breeze. Choose a style that’s light and adorned with floral beading or silk flower accents, lace, ruffles or a colorful sash in your wedding colors for a unique look.
• Wear a wrap of lace or chiffon to cover your bare arms in the evening and to protect your skin from the sun.
• Think about accents that will catch the sunlight and make you sparkle — crystal beading on your dress, a sparkling tiara or rhinestone clip in your hair, or even crystals added to your bouquet.
• For flowers, choose loose and carefree arrangements to make it look like you picked the blossoms from a field that morning.
• Use plenty of candlelight to maintain a summery glow even after the sun sets.
• Even if your color scheme is classic and elegant (black and white, brown and cream) you can still add a summer touch with a pop of a bright color like red, fuchsia, lime green, teal, or orange. Accent with this color in your flowers, ribbons, personalized napkins at the receptions and in other places to create a unique, fresh look.
• Provide Printed favor fans for guests at outdoor or beach wedding to help keep them cool.
• Let guests know on your invitations or reception cards if the ceremony or reception will be outdoors or at the beach so they can prepare and dress appropriately.
And remember — plan your summer wedding carefully, keep on top of details, and you’ll definitely keep your cool!
