A Vibrant Indian Wedding

The vibrant color scheme that characterized this wedding was not the inspiration behind every guest's desire to join in the celebration, it was the bride and groom, who were filled with an abundance of adoration for one another and made this wedding such a joyful and special occasion. Gathered with their families and friends, Lisha and Boto attested their love with a religious ceremony held at Hitchcock Presbyterian Church in Scarsdale, NY. The reception of 330 guests, held at the Royal Regency Hotel in Yonkers, NY, was decorated in varying shades of red, burgundy, gold and coral to match the elaborate detail of the bride's and bridesmaids' traditional Indian saris.

instead of carrying a traditional ring pillow, we designed a tray where the bands were tied to a delicate gold ribbon that was inserted into a lavish burgundy flower

the flower girls carried a basket of petals decorated with gold-colored ribbon


welcome to the ceremony
upon entering the church, guests were greeted by a soft floral arrangement and a basket containing the stunning programs made by UMAMA in the vivid wedding colors


at the altar
an angelic garland of baby breath decorated the railing along the altar


along the aisle
each pew arrangement contained coral, pink and burgundy roses with berries and greenery all tied together against large greens by a wide golden ribbon

the 10 bridesmaids wore beautifully embellished saris in a bright coral color with a complementing rose bouquet in varying shades of oranges and pinks

the reception
tall arrangements of red and gold branches dipped in coral colored water and inserted into clear glass trumpet vases spruced up each table, votive candles in gold-toned glass holders were scattered throughout the table creating a romantic mood

the bridal bouquet
Lisha wanted to incorporate the colors of her reception attire - a maroon, orange and burgundy sari with gold embroidery - so we opted for a lively bouquet of burgundy roses and two-toned calla lilies with hints of luscious ivory roses

the sweet heart table
since the bride wanted her bouquet to be the focal point of her table, we made three small arrangements of white roses to compliment it. in order for the guest tables not to overshadow the sweetheart table, we covered it in bright colored petals and votive candles for a dreamy yet romantic effect

share your wish

the guest book, a photo book of the couple set against various picturesque locations, sat on a table covered in petals and candles. accompanying the book, a box wrapped in beautiful Indian paper was placed for any wedding cards the couple received

Bright Peonies in NYC

For their post-wedding photo shoot with Robert Sukrachand, Roslyn hired éventus to make her bouquet... a vibrantly colored bouquet of intense pink peonies.
The flowers, the beautiful weather and the talented photographer definitely set the tone for the fun filled shoot set against friendly landmarks of New York City.

A Memorable Wedding Fiesta

Andy and Roslyn's wedding was truly an unforgettable experience! Even the swine flu hysteria was not able to stop this determined couple from having the wedding of their dreams set against the beautiful Caribbean Ocean in Puerto Aventuras, Mexico; one of their favorite destinations. They desired an intimate affair that directly reflected their creativity, humor and attention to detail. The numerous tokens of affection that were distributed throughout this weekend affair expressed the couple's love and gratitude for all of those family and friends that shared in their special occasion.

stationary suite
As a graphic designer, the groom and his detailed wife-to-be created all of the stationary for their special day... they opted for a very pale base, accented with pink and orange graphics and lettering to match the entire wedding décor. The wedding invitation was adorned with pink raw netting and finished with a touch of natural-colored raffia.

details, details, details
Surprising each guest upon their arrival were small welcome packages in brown-colored craft boxes. These thoughtful treats were embellished with raffia and a decorative tage containing the couples' initials in their own personalized stationary design.

flip-flops galore
As preparation for the wedding ceremony at the beach, flip-flops were handed to guests during the welcome dinner the night before the wedding.

special surprise
As a surprise to the groom, his wife-to-be asked the best man, who was also the groom's brother, to officiate the ceremony... which resulted not only in a sweet gift to the groom, but also created a very emotional and personal symbolic ceremony.


flowery poetry
In lieu of a bouquet and ring pillow, the maid of honor carried a book of love poems. The rings were placed inside a cut-out in the middle of the book and it was adorned with beautiful lisianthus flowers matching the bride's delicate bouquet.

here comes the bride...
What better backdrop than the eternal bliss an ocean symbolizes... white chairs with starfish ornaments were set in a semi circular set-up around a canopy that was wrapped with touches of pink and orange chiffon. Chinese parasols, randomly placed along the aisle, added a cheerful touch.

let's raise a glass
The cocktail hour was held at the resort's gazebo, where a Mexican mariachi serenaded the couple. A pink signature drink decorated with small flags that spelled "Cheers" in Spanish and Greek honored the couple's heritage. The groom also requested that a star fruit garnish the drink not only because it was his favorite but also to symbolize the tattoo he shared with his wife... which surprisingly enough, was also the shape of the gazebo.

let the FIESTA begin

Due to unexpected changes in the reception space, the entire set-up for the reception décor had to be re-arranged last minute and El Patio Restaurant, at the Dreams Puerto Aventuras Resort, served as the perfect alternative. The rustic chairs and tables were set in a U-shaped formation to allow for an intimate dinner and represented the union of these two families. El Patio's high, straw ceilings and wicker lanterns created a romantic and tropical ambiance.

Chiffon runners, paper luminaries and votive candles decorated the rustic tables. To give each place setting their own personality, menus were adorned with a starfish and small buttons with guests names. Table numbers were created using each corresponding guest's personalized button.

cute little things
Forgoing the ordinary place cards, personalized buttons were made... the couple took on the creative, yet fun, task of coming up with interpretations of each guest, whether it was a caricature, signature item or simply memorabilia that reflected each of their loved ones.


take a pic, drop a wish
An amazing iron tree with orange ornaments and white lights was the perfect setting for the guest book (and also served as a guide to the never-ending, traditional Greek dance!). Along with their good wishes, guests were asked to take their own Polaroid pictures and insert them in a guest book. The Polaroids caused a sensation since each guest was enthusiastic to be a part of this keepsake.

musical favors
A love for music is a characteristic of this couple and trying to combine their love for all genres of Spanish, Greek and American songs was a real challenge... but one that resulted in total success - you should have seen the dancing!!! Cds, one with the Bride's mix and on with the Groom's, decorated with a caricature of the couple, created by the groom, were wrapped in orange envelopes with pink netting and raffia details.

a piñata, anyone?
and what's a party in Mexico without a piñata?!?!... It was simply the best way to end the party and bring out the kid in every guest.

Wedding Blooms Amidst April Showers

Wendy and Dan met in New York City and apart from falling head over heels for one another, they fell hard for the city... a theme that they wanted to incorporate into the details of their special day. Seeing their wedding as only the beginning of the rest of their lives, they did not wish for colors and themes to dictate their day. By adding together seasonal flowers and NYC mementos, we were able to create a fresh and vibrant ambiance against the gloomy April drizzle for this intimate affair.

guests received W&D metro cards to announce it was time to transfer to the dinner reception

each guest name was a stop along one of the the three different boroughs (or tables) of Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens
