frida kahlo birthday party (!!!!!)

Uh...MAZ-ING.

I'm left speechless by these party pictures...there's not much I can say in words that these pictures can't express! Every single detail is brilliant. While I'm usually not a fan of 'photo birthday cakes', I think it works soooo perfectly in this instance, with the birthday girl (Sofia) dressed as iconic Frida in a portrait-style photo.

(And a big thank you to Yolanda for making sure I didn't miss this amazing party! Now I'm just left wondering...how do I raise a daughter who at age 8 requests a Frida Kahlo party!?)

pink + yellow loveliness

You won't want to miss this gorgeous pink + yellow party from Faith of The Kitchn. These colors are definitely a winning combination. I can't get over all the lovely details...including the bright pink peonies (an all-time flower fave!) and lemon place card holders. Check it all out right here.

Thanks to the divine Miss M. for making sure I saw this one...I was just thinking about NieNie the other day! For those of you who don't know- NieNie was in a terrible plane accident with her husband last year, suffered horrible burns, and is still in the process of recovery. A mother to four children, she's got quite a full plate. But her house is full of love- you can tell that from all of her entries, and she's got a five-star husband that supports her in every way. So she has lots to celebrate, and did so on her 28th birthday. I pulled a couple of favorites from the celebration, but there are many more right here. Her 'story' is addictive, and I recommend you tune in if you are ever feeling down. This woman is an inspiration- and in this case, so is her birthday party!
